Our Mission and Impact

Today, the Georgetown Loop Railroad is proudly owned by History Colorado as an official historic site. Through this stewardship, the railroad is preserved not only as a scenic attraction, but as a living museum–where history is experienced firsthand through historic locomotives, original routes, and immersive storytelling.

As a link between Georgetown and Silver Plume, the Loop plays a vital role in preserving and interpreting Colorado’s mining and railroad heritage, connecting visitors to the people, industries, and innovations that shaped the Centennial State.
