Steam Locomotive #111

Steam Locomotive #111 (pronounced one-eleven) was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1926 and originally operated on the International Railway of Central America, where it primarily operated within the Republic of El Salvador, and occasionally operated in Guatemala. The 111 was returned to the U.S. in 1973 to the Sundown & Southern RR in Hudson, CO where it never ran, and was auctioned off in 2002 to the town of Breckenridge, CO for display at the Highline Railroad Park. History Colorado acquired the 111 in 2008 and entrusted it to our Silver Plume Engine House for restorations beginning in 2013. Engine No. 111 was finally restored to service in 2016 and has since been an important part of the Georgetown Loop fleet.
