Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
Last updated: June 24, 2026
The Georgetown Loop Railroad & Mining Park (the “Railroad,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated as a partnership of Historic Rail Adventures, LLC and History Colorado, the State Historical Society of Colorado. The Georgetown Loop is one of History Colorado’s historic sites, and this website is maintained in support of that partnership.
Protecting your privacy is important to us, and we want you to understand what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to safeguard it. We do not collect personal information about individuals — such as names, mailing addresses, or e-mail addresses — unless you knowingly provide it to us. By using the Georgetown Loop Railroad website at georgetownlooprr.com (the “Website”), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use set out below.
Privacy Policy
Ticket Booking & Reservations (FareHarbor)
Train rides, mine tours, events, and related reservations are booked and processed through FareHarbor, a third-party online booking platform. When you book tickets, you are interacting with FareHarbor’s hosted booking system, which is embedded into or linked from our Website.
Important: Our Website does not collect, capture, process, or store any of the personal or payment information you enter when booking a ticket. All booking details — including your name, contact information, billing and payment information, and reservation details — are submitted directly to and stored within FareHarbor’s systems. That information is handled in accordance with FareHarbor’s own privacy practices.
We encourage you to review the FareHarbor Privacy Policy to understand how your information is collected and used during the booking process. When you complete a reservation, we receive the booking information necessary to fulfill your order and deliver your experience (for example, your reservation date, party size, and contact details), but the payment card information itself is processed and retained by FareHarbor and its payment processors, not by this Website.
Information You Provide Directly
Aside from ticket booking, you may choose to provide personal information directly to us in other ways, such as when you:
- Submit a question or message through our contact form;
- Sign up to receive our e-mail newsletter or promotional updates;
- Make an inquiry about large groups, private events, or charters;
- Apply for a job through our careers page; or
- Otherwise communicate with us by e-mail, phone, or mail.
In these cases, we may collect information such as your name, e-mail address, telephone number, mailing address, and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to your request, fulfill your inquiry, or provide the service or communication you asked for.
E-mail Newsletters & Communications
As a service, we offer visitors the opportunity to subscribe to our e-mail newsletter and promotional updates. If you subscribe, you will receive communications about events, special trains, seasonal offerings, and news from the Georgetown Loop Railroad. You may unsubscribe at any time by following the opt-out instructions included in each e-mail, or by contacting us using the information below.
Cookies & Tracking — Consent-Based
Cookies are small files of information stored on your device by your web browser. Our Website uses a cookie-consent management tool (CookieYes) to give you control over the cookies and tracking technologies used on this site.
Your choice controls tracking. When you first visit our Website, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner. No non-essential cookies or tracking scripts are enabled unless you click “Accept.” If you do not accept, or if you decline non-essential cookies, those cookies and tracking scripts will not run and your activity will not be tracked for analytics or marketing purposes. You may change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings available on our Website.
Certain strictly necessary cookies may be required for the Website to function properly and cannot be switched off. Any analytics, performance, or marketing cookies are loaded only after you provide consent. Most web browsers also allow you to refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings.
How We Use and Disclose Information
We use the personal information you provide for internal purposes, such as responding to your inquiries, sending communications you have requested, fulfilling group or event requests, processing job applications, and analyzing general trends and statistics to improve the Website and our visitor experience.
We do not sell your personal information. Because the Georgetown Loop Railroad is operated in partnership with History Colorado, information you provide may be shared between Historic Rail Adventures, LLC and History Colorado as needed to operate the Railroad, coordinate events, and provide the services you have requested. We may also share information with trusted third-party service providers (such as FareHarbor for bookings, our e-mail and analytics providers, and similar vendors) solely to perform services on our behalf.
We may compile and share aggregate, de-identified statistics about our visitors, customers, and Website traffic. Such aggregate statistics will never include personally identifying information.
Children
We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. Visitors twelve years of age and under should obtain a parent or guardian’s permission before submitting any personal information to this or any other website.
Links to Other Websites
Our Website includes links to websites operated by third parties over which we have no control — including FareHarbor, History Colorado (historycolorado.org), and our social media pages. Once you leave our Website, this Privacy Policy no longer applies, and you access those sites at your own risk. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
Security
Our Website uses industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to help protect information transmitted to and from the site. Because all ticket purchases and payment processing occur within FareHarbor’s secure, PCI-compliant booking environment, your payment card information is never transmitted to or stored on our Website.
Relationship to the History Colorado Privacy Policy
As a historic site of History Colorado, the State Historical Society of Colorado, the Georgetown Loop Railroad operates in alignment with History Colorado’s privacy practices. For information about History Colorado’s broader data practices, including memberships, donations, research services, and open records, please see the History Colorado Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. We may revise this Privacy Policy at any time, without prior notice, with changes effective immediately upon posting to the Website. Such revisions may be made in response to changes in law, policy, technology, or other factors. We encourage you to revisit this page periodically to review our most current policy.
